I'm always championing the Filipino and I've also had the chance to hear Arnel Pineda here in Cebu, but sorry, his version is never going to be as good, as crisp, as less screechy as the original Survivor.
ReplyDeleteThat being said, I still think Pineda is a good good singer, a nice guy, and a very very nice life story to boot. Wait for it, I heard it's going to be a movie next year.
aw dang. ok, hmm...if i see him live, I'll write another comment. hehe. thanks Bri.
ReplyDeleteUh-oh, another movie tie-in. So typical of the Filipino Spirit. :-) hehe.
some talented filipinos are better off abroad in the wider arena -- the globe. kakatawa kasi di naman sya homegrown talent ng channel 2 and yet some press releases say na he is channel 2's pride. he is no network's pride but the whole nation's. where were they when he was living in poverty? if the networks are really serious in being the local talents' pride, they should go to youtube and get their own arnel pineda to secure a spot in one of their shows.
