Photo: First love

First love. August 11,2012. Dumaguete City.

Actually, they could be anything, these two kids.

I just like the idea of Love these days.

My first real love was wearing white, i do remember vividly. I didn't know it then, but it was the last time I was ever going to see him, and I never got to tell him so. I watched him go, watched him walk away...until the sun was in my eyes and I couldn't see him anymore...

:-(

But, my "first" "love" was the AmBoy from Texas...who read Hardy Boys and lectured me on Scud Missiles who I shared a grade school desk with.

He was a cutie.

(Anyway, back to work. Seeya.)Love, S.x

Note to self.

Young father and child in the waiting. July 2012. Ermita, Manila.

"...one must exert all effort to make her work look effortless."

:-)

I hope so. With grand rounds coming up, I just want to be able to present something real and awesome, and not perfect.

Wish me luck.

Love,

S.

Photo: No regrets

No regrets. Pasay City, May 17, 2012. (Photo by'; Me)

No regrets.

That's how life should be lived.

:-) With smart choices, and with a big heart.

Love,

S.

"Bottlecap in a rut."  May 17,2012. Pasay City.

I took this picture while we were waiting for my paperwork to be done at the insurance place. I'm crazy about shooting things in black and white these days... :-) This was an exercise in doing details in dynamic black and white setting.

Photos: Sunrise, OPD

the day of "reckoning".
Sunrise.

Baby baby. Astro Boy (February 2012) Mall rat. Heart Tree (February 2012) Waiting.

I don't know if my photos are any good, but I do love taking a lot of them.

I was talking to my friend about my blog, and saying that my biggest regret in past blogs was that I didn't put too many pictures in them. That way, if I didn't get to write about something, at least I'll have the pictures to remember things by.

A good picture, supposedly, is worth a thousand words.

Photo: Hide and Go seek

Hide and Go Seek. February 1,2012. Bocobo,Ermita, Manila.

The streets near where I live have a whole lot of things happening on them... I'd love for one day to just wander around and discreetly snap pictures. They're not all pretty, but they're so rich with people, and all the things they do.

On the way to "Badminton Wednesday", I came upon this group of kids playing hide and seek...this one was particularly crafty. He had his eyes open the whole time, while he was doing the countdown. :-) And his green slippers that were 4 sizes too big and on the wrong feet? That was the detail that I only noticed afterwards.

I wonder what his name is...

I think he's an "Oliver", but for all I know, he could be a "John Cena". :-)

(In these streets of endless possibilities, who knows?)

Photos: Dumaguete Day 1

Charm. Badjao baby riding the PUV. December 28,2011.

It doesn't happen very often that 3 planes happen to show up at one time on the Dumaguete Tarmac. So not. But considering they botched up,and had to cancel a flight due to tardiness, Cebu Pacific had to "create" a new flight.

“Happiness means being close to the one you love, that’s all,” muses the narrator.
"  (Antoine was reading this while waiting, and then I remembered how my cousin Chris raved about this book...he has a copy at home, which I will definitely read this vacation.)

Just off the shore.

Photo: Powernapping

Powernapping. December 15,2011.Ermita, Manila.

I saw these ladies one afternoon, catching a few winks on my to the OPD, and I couldn't help thinking, "Hmm...I'd like to just keel over and grab some shut-eye too, if I could."

Sleep, oh beautiful sleep, is stress relief in itself.

Love,

S.

P.S. Am on my way to Makati to see Antoine and the Christmas lights at the Ayala Triangle with my Lumix ready in hand! Now that's stress relief! :-)

Worry

Old lady by the boulevard one afternoon. October 2011.

" Worry is a god, invisible but omnipotent. It steals the bloom from the cheek and lightness from the pulse; it takes away the appetite, and turns hair gray."

------

My credo when things get tough? "There are other bigger things to worry about, out there. This is not just it. Or, "I've been through this before, it can't be that bad."

Photo: Never Let Me Go

"Never let me go". August 5, 2011. Binondo, Manila. Photo by S.
Sitting across this couple in the jeepney, and seeing them all "entangled", the only thought that was in my mind was Kazuo Ishiguro's book (although it's of a different theme altogether), "Never Let Me Go." (Hold fast, one of you just might get away.) <-- PDA's are fine, and I have no problems with other people doing it. But currently,I'm ambivalent about what I feel about it, if that were me.

And I'm like, holy cow. now I'm a cynic.

(tsk tsk..)

Love,

S.

Photo: The Street Crooner

Street Singer. August 13, 2011.

At any given time, there is a singer on the Pedro Gil side of the hospital. This guy sang a really amazing version of Freddie Aguilar's "Anak"...which I think even sounded better than the original.
I just had to take a picture...after dropping a donation, of course.
Props.
He had soul. (He was a regular BB King.) :-)
 No wait, Stevie Wonder.

Photo: The fool's moon.

Moonlight over an empty house. Ermita, Manila. August 14,2011.
This picture was better in real life, and up-close. The moon was shining so brightly, that it made the empty house seem all the more eerie... Trust me, I scare easily, but this time, I was especially confident because my friends were nearby when I took this picture.

I could almost imaging a creepy face bursting out of the shadows all of a sudden...

and...

nevermind.

I sleep alone in my bed  pa naman.

(I think I'm being a fool, really. :-c )

And yes, this was a scary house. It was so eerily perfect, one could not imagine that it was right smack in the middle of the city.

Photo: Torn Between Two Lovers

While walking back to the hotel after dinner, I saw this guy on the street. "Torn between two lovers", who were both larger than life. Must be tough.

Ah people...they will never cease to amaze me.
