Dencio's and the Hangover

No, i didn't do anything bad of over the weekend. (The title is not related.)

Just had my cousins stay with me for a couple of days.

My cousin Lemuel (who just got back from Japan on a training grant (he's an engineer)) was feeling generous, so he took us all out to grill dinner. He wanted Gerry's Grill, so I said..."Hey, I know where that is!" 

And when we got there....the place turned out to be a Dencio's. haha . My bad. 

That's my cousin Lemuel, and his fiance Patricia, who's also an engineer. She's going to be a lawyer soon, too. So my cousin goes, "You know, we're very lucky, our kids will be both good-looking (at this, he raises his eyebrows up and down), and smart (and then he looks at her.).  :-p 

lol... sorry, but it sounds better in my dialect when we say it.

Oh, and we had sisig and crispy pata, and sinugba...until we could barely stand up.

And the clincher?

We watched Hangover II afterwards.

I got myself a brand new Baby.

This was the "virgin screen"...i didn't do a lot of tweaking.

:-p The fingerprints? i know, right... I should've gotten the matte screen protector. well, maybe next time.

I so love the minimalist design.

Apple keeps it really really simple.

When it was first installed, I couldn't wait!

I bought it and had the dudes at the store "dress it up". :-)

Before: It took a little getting used-to, but hey, it was fun.

After: I'm definitely a happy customer!

The Med School Library...

...is my new haunt. I just found out that one can "totally dorkify" by just flashing one's Hospital Work ID at the guard on-duty.

i'm in absolute medical heaven.

"First Class" First Class

I got to watch X Men First Class last night with my cousin greggy at the mall... it was like, wow.

I've always loved (ALWAYS) Superhero movies, but this one tops them all. Such a cool movie...

(But don't take my word for it, I'm sort of biased in that I love these movies anyway.)

When the movie credits came on, I was even clapping. (To which my co-resid.ent, Mer said, Kadiri ka talaga, Ling." Haha.) I don't know, I guess I was just totally excited about the whole concept of the X-Men and what they could do and the whole fantasy of it all that I could not help but get carried away. This is, hands down, the best Xmen movie ever

And, of course, I've developed a bit of a crush.

Brainy boy Professor Xavier is my choice for Mutant of the Night. :-)

When we were in growing up in my hometown (we were in grade school that time),we didn't have cable tv, and the only way we could get to watch a relatively clear version of the Uncanny X-Men was to go over to my cousin's house on the other side...they lived up on the hill ( we were near the river, and it was lower so the tv reception wasn't so good.) And we'd be all excited, chatting happily about the past week's episode and stuff. We also had popcorn and stories.  My brother and I would troop over to the big house, and my cousins Greggy and Popoi would be there waiting. And then we'd do that again Next week. 

If I do remember correctly, I was Jean Grey, Popoi was Storm (yes, he's happy.), Donskie was Cyclops and Greggy Boy was Gambit. :-) Anyway, Greggy paid for the movie, which made it cooler.
