Photo: Micro-Reunion

One of my high school friends got promoted, and he invited us all to dinner at Italianni's, this really nice Italian restaurant at Greenbelt...

I arrived late, 'cause I had a thing at Quezon City, but I fully intended to be there, so there I was, just in time for dessert. :-)

That's Herv, Gayle, TonTon and Twan. :-)

(I think we spent 75% of the time laughing out loud.) :-)

I got home at 1:30, they drove me to my place.

When I got to do some "Me" time on the balcony, I thought about how much dorky fun we had in high school, and that we will always had those fun blooper memories to laugh about. :-)

 Love,

 S.

P.S. Guess what...we talked a lot about my line of work, i.e. "Hey, I have this friend..." and so on and so forth. :-D

Photo: Football Baby

Football Baby This little dude wandered into our football game last night... He's a cutie...he even has his own skills ball! :-D :-) (he's a year and a half of football cuteness. And I thought the girl chasing him around was his big sister. My bad. She was his mom. haha. foot-in-mouth. *blush*) Love, S.

Photo: Missed

Little girl at the funeral home. I was recently at a wake (with Joff and Trina) of the dad of one of our nurses at the ward. It was a big loss for the family...he was the father of six, husband to only one woman (for life), and apparently, a well-loved executive. Death is never easy, and although I still find it hard to talk to someone who just had a death in the family, or lost someone close...I'd like to try harder. I suppose I just need to listen... She said that it was...easier to talk about how she felt and she appreciated someone asking how she was, rather than just talk about the events, or what happened to her dad post-op. I suppose everyone who ever lost anybody that way would appreciate being asked how they were. Her dad seemed to be a nice chap. a capital fellow. He will be missed. Ma'am Gela's dad. RIP Love, S.

Photo: Scrambled eggs and sage-like advice

I eat eggs only when they're scrambled, or stirred into soup. My father makes them for me. Here's one of him in the process of making me scrambled eggs at my new place that first morning. :-) Best pop ever. :-) Sage and Scrambled. Love, S.

Black Ink Pasta...

is not for a romantic date. lol, unless of course, your date fancies black teeth and lips.

if you're out with medschool classmates, like I was last thursday, it is just the yummy thing to order.

P1070003 was out with my med school friends... P1070012 Smooch! P1070015 Grin! P1070016 (and no, i'm not dating currently at the moment, but if i were, i'd probably order Black Ink Pasta and see how the guy would react to charcoal smiles.) Fun night, all in all. Love, S.

Callroom "insight"

My junior duty partner and I were talking about life, love (unrequited and otherwise), psychiatry in general, and to sum it all up, in my own words...

you can't possibly understand another person's pain unless you've known some of your own.

It was the summary of it all. The reason why we become good psychiatrists is because we understand the human condition...and underneath all that symptomatology, mystified sometimes, there lies a person in pain, suffering.

Oh, and this was over KFC's fully-loaded meal...

S.

"Bottlecap in a rut."  May 17,2012. Pasay City.

I took this picture while we were waiting for my paperwork to be done at the insurance place. I'm crazy about shooting things in black and white these days... :-) This was an exercise in doing details in dynamic black and white setting.

Just a thought...

"In the end, only three things matter - how much you have loved, how gently you have lived, and how gracefully you have let go of the things not meant for you."

- copied off Sir Ken Ong Tan's page.

(I just thought it was nice and serene...)

My Ma, the Wikipedia

My Ma is a regular wikipedia of life lessons

Important stuff like,

1. Always save for a rainy day (I try, I do..)
2. A real lady waits for the gentleman to sweep her off her feet (And not ask, "Do you like me?")
3. Little goals should be reached first before the big ones ('You've got to be realistic')
4. That prayer is always important. (Believe me, I do.)

including mundane stuff like,

> how to open a checking account (hehe)
> how to properly cook a scrambled egg (uh-huh :-p)
> which top looks better on me when the choice comes down to two...
> or even, "Waaah...I feel so ugly! (recent bout with the chicken pox)

:-) At this ripe old age of...25 ;-), I still have a direct line to my mother who's always there for me, for basically anything.

And even though I like to think of myself as a badass woman of the world who can hold her own in any battle, any heartbreak, any disappointment that life has to offer, I still consider myself terribly lucky to have someone I can call, someone I know who loves me for me, and is willing to hear me out, rant after rant, kilig moment after kilig moment, blooper after blooper.

:-)

Thanks Meme, you're the best! :-D

Photo: Manila Rains

One time last week, it was raining really hard, and I wanted to go home. The rain seemed to stop and then my other coresident, Jeffrey Quirino goes, "Ok S., you can go home now." And so I went out, thinking it was going to be dry, and then boom, the rain falls on me.

It's been really hot in Manila these days, these rains are very welcome indeed.

Random shots of getting caught in the rain...and I'm posting it just 'cause.

By the way, I got this song from Ma'am Wamcie...cute!

Knack

I recently saw a picture of someone i know online and I just realized that I have a knack for knowing when I have been turned into a dunce before it was too late.

Happened twice already.

Thank heavens for small things.

S.
